Com-Power AHA-118 Wide Band Active Horn Antenna
I Introducing Com-Power AHA-118:
The Com-Power AHA-118 Broadband Active Horn Antenna has a built-in pre-amplifier to instantly amplify low-level signals at the antenna output during electromagnetic interference testing. With this arrangement, the maximum signal will be enhanced before being fed to the conventional long cable connecting the test area and control room. Most high frequency (above 1 GHz) EMC testing on DUTs (device under test) is performed at a distance of 1 to 3 meters on an open area test site (OATS) or shielded enclosure with an absorbent layer (ALSE). As test distance increases, signals become less visible above the noise level of a typical spectrum analyzer or receiver. Reducing the resolving bandwidth (RBW) will increase the instrument’s sensitivity, but regulatory tests often specify fixed RBW settings for the individual frequency bands of the test. This requires the use of a high-gain preamplifier to accurately measure low-level emissions. The typical gain of the integrated preamplifier for the AHA-118A is 40 dB.
