I Introduction to CLEM-6146:

The CLEM-6164 Electromagnetic Clamp or ‘EM’ Clamp is designed for use as a clamp insertion device for immunity tests conducted in the frequency range from 150 kHz to 230 MHz according to IEC/EN 61000-4-6 . The clamp can also be used for testing over an extended frequency range from 10 kHz to 1 GHz. The cable connected between the Equipment Under Test (EUT) port under test and its Ancillary Equipment (AE) is placed into the EM Clamp. The EM clamp provides a means to couple the RF energy to the cable and separate it from the AE path, so that the energy is directed to the EUT. The CLEM-6146 incorporates split core ferrites that allow the top half of the hinged housing to open so that the cable under test can easily be placed in place. Once closed, turning the two knobs on the front of the clamp a quarter turn will engage the locking mechanism that compresses the top and bottom halves of the iron core together around the cable.
